...Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks?
The Shepherd will always lead the sheep to pasture. The bible say that "we are sheep of his pasture". (Psalms 100:3) Let us look at this scripture in another way. what is the role of the sheep in all this. The sheep have to know the voice of the shepherd who has been tasked by God to lead them to pasture. The sheep must learn to always follow the shepherd. if a christian in a congregation is doing things according to their own understanding that is why they end up in the wilderness situation.
People need to wake up and start to take heed of the voice of those who have been appointed by Christ himself to lead them. the bible say that He [Christ] chose some to be Apostles, prophets, evangelist , pastors [shepherds] and teachers. (Ephesians 4:11)
Our prosperity depends on obedience of the word given to us from God through the appointed shepherds. In Joshua 1:7 God spoke to Joshua.."Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest."
In order to prosper a christian must take heed of the voice of what God commanded His servants to speak. This verse also points out that in order to prosper, courage is needed and a character of strength is essential. Meaning there will be situation that will require one to take a step of boldness. But I need not worry because Christ is my strength in times of weakness.
I believe when i begin to pay attention to the good news i received, then Matthew 10:41 is made true in my life. "He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet's reward: and he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man will receive a righteous man's reward."💥
The way to receive a man of God is by believing in the good news that he is presenting.
May the lord richly bless you as you begin to apply every word that is given through the appointed shepherds. After-all every word that God sends my way will not return to Him void but will bring about prosperity in when it succeeds in what it has been sent to do. (Isaiah 55:11)
